Accessibility Statement
NeuroInclusive.UK is committed to making its website accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities and neurodivergent people. This is not a compliance exercise. We build tools for neuroinclusion — our own platform must reflect that commitment.
Accessibility standard
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across all public pages, assessments, dashboards, and training content. We regularly test against these guidelines and address issues as they are identified.
What we do
Perception
- Dark mode toggle on every page — reduces visual stress and supports light-sensitive users
- All colour combinations meet WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text)
- Text scales with browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- No content is conveyed by colour alone — status indicators use icons and labels alongside colour
- No auto-playing audio or video on any page
Operation
- Full keyboard navigation across all pages (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Escape)
- Skip-to-content link on the homepage for screen reader users
- Assessment questions can be answered using keyboard number keys (1-4) and arrow keys
- No time limits on assessments — answer at your own pace
- Assessment progress is saved automatically so you can leave and return
- Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements
Understanding
- Clear, plain language throughout — we avoid jargon and explain technical terms
- Consistent navigation structure across all pages
- Form fields have visible labels and clear error messages
- Assessment questions include "Why this matters" expandable explanations
- Glossary page available at /glossary/ for key terms
Robustness
- Semantic HTML5 throughout (headings, landmarks, lists, forms)
- All pages validate against the HTML specification
- Compatible with modern screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver)
- No JavaScript-dependent content without fallback
Known limitations
- Some older dashboard pages use inline styles that may not fully respect user-defined stylesheets
- The AI Copilot chat interface may not announce new messages to all screen readers in real time
- Radar charts on dashboard pages convey information visually — text alternatives are provided via aria-labels
- PDF reports generated by the AI system may not be fully tagged for screen reader navigation
We are actively working to address these. If any of them affect your use of the site, please contact us and we will provide the information in an accessible format.

Feedback
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of this site. If something isn't working for you — even if it's not a "technical" accessibility issue but a usability barrier related to how your brain processes information — we want to know. This site exists to measure and improve neuroinclusive environments. Our own environment should meet the same standard.
Our commitment
The Ecological Inclusion Framework locates the problem in the environment, not the person. We apply the same principle to this website. If you can't use it, the problem is ours to fix.
